Ginger tea is not made the same way as your standard leaf teas. If you just take raw ginger and steep it, all you get is very weak flavored ginger water without the true benefits that this exceptional root possesses.
When I was in Jamaica, everyone drank ginger tea. You could smell it in almost every household you entered. Such an inviting and calming fragrance.
Ginger tea is so simple to make. Nowadays, you can purchase fresh ginger for an extremely reasonable price and it stores in your refrigerator for a very long time. Buy organic whenever possible. If you think about it - ginger is a root and obtains all of its amazing benefits directly from the soil. You do not want it contaminated by pesticides and other poisons.

I usually make 8 cups of water with 4" root-sliced. What I don't use at that time, I pour it into a jar and keep it in the refrigerator. It is great over ice too. If you prefer it sweetened, be sure to add your honey, maple syrup, or preferred sweetener while it is hot, prior to refrigeration.
Enjoy!
